The History and Mission of TEDA

TEDA was originally formed in 1999 as an outreach to local businesses in Terrace. Today, our mission is to stimulate Terrace’s economy, with the objective of improving economic infrastructure and facilitating new investment. In addition to raising the profile of Terrace as a place to invest and do business, TEDA provides access to local talent, goods, and services.

Our Accomplishments

We have created First Nations negotiation packages for small businesses, as well as comprehensive industrial resource service directories. TEDA also actively supports community and not-for-profit groups, and acts as an advisor and advocate to local businesses. Most recently, we won the bid to host the 2013 Minerals North Conference in Terrace.

Terrace and Future Development Projects

Terrace is centrally located in the heart of Northwest BC. Several major mining operations, worth hundreds of millions in investment, are set to start in the “Golden Triangle” north of Terrace this year, in addition to substantial investment in other areas. These projects will be serviced by the Northwest Transmission Line project, which will establish solid power distribution infrastructure throughout the region once completed.
