Industrial Land
Northwest British Columbia (BC) is a favourable location for industry, with extensive natural resource endowments, a multimodel transportation network and proximity to important export markets in Asia. Terrace’s location as a regional transportation hub, places the City in a strategic position to benefit from these factors. It is the regional business centre, providing many of the business, government, and retail services to the surrounding areas.
The City of Terrace Airport Lands are located south of the City, across the Skeena River. Terrace is a regional transportation hub and the airport is a very important component of that network. The City and airport authority realize the potential of the Airport lands for industrial development and their importance for the local community and northwest region.
As the airport is a hub for the regional transportation network the Airport Lands are well positioned to take advantage of the transportation infrastructure, telecommuications, power and natural gas infrastructure and the potential for large lots.
Affordable industrial and commercial properties can be acquired for all types of uses. (It should be noted that local government has taken a number of steps to ensure an ongoing supply of these efficient, suitable development tracts.) Industrial users can choose from a variety of large greenfield sites in close proximity to tidewater at Prince Rupert and Kitimat as well as from localities closer to Terrace, the established service centre.
