MINERALS NORTH TERRACE, 2007
The annual Minerals North conference was held in Terrace from April 17th to 19th, 2007. This conference brought the minerals industry together with a broad spectrum of people from northern BC communities, the lower mainland, Vancouver Island, Alberta, the Kootenays, and as far away as Ontario including delegates such as municipal and aboriginal representatives, business people, contractors, students, teachers and environmentalists.
TEDA was one of the hard working volunteer groups that made this conference a success. Below is a photo of our Minerals North Chair, Bert Husband, who is presenting two cheques for the total of $20,000.00 from our Minerals North 2007 Legacy Fund to the Northwest Community College. A cheque in the amount of $10,000.00 was donated to the Culinary Arts Program and a second $10,000.00 was donated to the second phase of the Mining School of Exploration and Mining.
