As of 2008, almost half of all proposed Canadian mining projects were in British Columbia, with the majority located in Northern BC. Robust prices for gold, copper, molybdenum, and coal have also reactivated multiple dormant prospects. Mining opportunities found in Northwest BC continue to grow, where many existing sites are conducting further exploration to find undiscovered mineral reserves.
