Recreation
Every year the Terrace Standard produces a brochure entitled 52 Things to do in the NorthWest . In this document you’ll find the obvious recreational activities available in Terrace such as fishing, hiking, golf, skiing and boating. But as the name predicts, there’s more and so much more to do and see. Terrace is the place to live if you love the outdoors and it is also the place to live if you are a history buff, check out the historical museum and various sites of interest within a days drive or take an art walk ending at the local art museum.
Hiking trails for both the novice and the advanced are available with variety that is second to none. You can spend the morning walking though the heat of the lava beds and the afternoon in the cool of a rain forest. There are also world class cliffs for those who prefer not to have their feet on the ground.
In the winter there Terrace is in close proximity of Shames Mountain for the down hill skier as well as Onion Lake for the cross country ski buff.
Close access to water for the fishing and boating enthusiast is abundant as Terrace is within hours of the ocean, is surounded by rivers for fishing kayaking or white water rafting as well as fresh water lakes for recreation and fishing.
